So, guys, it’s come to my attention that I’ve been a horrible friend. I’ve been completely shirking my responsibilities as a respectable blog owner and haven’t been posting. Like, at all. Check out my Mailbox Monday posts. There are cobwebs on them. And cockroaches. Not really, but metaphorical cockroaches are crawling across those screens.
But my absence has NOT been for nothing! I have very legitimate reasons. A few family emergencies arose as well as the fact that I have been working on a new book. A few of you have even been Beta readers for said book! Of course, that’s not the “new book” I was talking about in the title. No, no, no. The “new book” is one I am much, much more excited about.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I present:
The Swordmaster (The Afterlight Chronicles #.5)
I know. I know. I haven’t even released Book 2 of The Afterlight Chronicles but I’ve had a lot of requests for a prequel. To get inside Lyom’s head and to understand why he does the things he does.
Because let’s all be honest. Lyom isn’t a likable character.
My hope is, after you’ve read The Swordmaster, you’ll have a better perspective of Lyom and will know a little bit more about his past, where he comes from, and what he did to become the Riser he is today.
In Evrallon, skeletons have a way of finding their way out of their closets.
Lyom Livingstone wasn’t always a Riser. He didn’t always hate the Queen of Crimson. But he has always had a secret. One he’s had to keep close to his chest.
In the prequel to Rose Reid’s debut novel, Crown of Crimson, a new light is shed on the enigmatic Lyom Livingstone as the world falls to pieces around him. Lydovier is engaged in a bloody civil war, and a horrifying spate of “Flickers” has erupted across Evrallon, seemingly without rhyme or reason. But young Lyom Livingstone is about to discover the man―or thing― behind it all, but once he knows, his life will never be the same again.
The Swordmaster follows Lyom Livingstone as he becomes Swordmaster and learns to protect the king and queen of Evrallon, later becoming the Cruel King’s Swordmaster. Get a glimpse into Lyom’s past and discover the secrets he’s tried so hard to keep buried.
So there you guys have it! The Swordmaster.
The prequel to Crown of Crimson will be released August 30, 2016.
As for the reviews, I am now starting to take them again. If you are an author or a publisher and would like for your book to be featured on Rose’s Reids, shoot me an email and I’ll take a look. Please review my guidelines before submitting.
What’s on your bookshelf? (Mara says: “Crown of Crimson!”)
